A new property price benchmark has been set in Throsby, with the opulent five-bedroom house at 208 Bettong Avenue changing hands this week for a record-breaking $2.81 million.
The sale, managed by Gurjant Singh and Malkiat Dhillon of New Door Properties, eclipsed the previous suburb record by more than $500,000.
Allhomes data shows the former high of $2.3 million was set earlier this year by the four-bedroom home at 8 Kowari Close, which was sold through Bastion Property Group.
Located in the Gungahlin region, the showstopping Bettong Avenue property generated strong interest with thousands of listing views.
“The property was on the market for 31 days, with the campaign attracting more than 5500 online views, 210 enquiries and seven serious buyers,” Singh said.
The house, designed with high-end finishes throughout, delivers an expansive 374 square metres of living space plus a basement garage with capacity for eight vehicles.
At its heart lies a vast open-plan living and dining area, defined by a soaring 5.4-metre ceiling void, a feature stone wall and a gas fireplace. The entertainer’s kitchen overlooks an impressive enclosed al fresco space, featuring a built-in barbecue and retractable roof, alongside a solar-heated lap pool.
Singh said the home offered a rare combination of scale, elegance and lifestyle amenity.
The landmark sale reflects the suburb’s rapid growth, with Allhomes data showing Throsby’s median house price has surged by 7.8 per cent over the past year to reach $975,500.
