Top 4 open homes to inspect in NSW surrounding areas this weekend

October 9, 2020
Expressions of interest for 7 Turrallo Terrace, Bungendore will end on November 4.

The recent long weekend has inspired us to look towards the surrounding NSW areas this week in our round-up of the best open homes to inspect.

It’s no secret that properties beyond Canberra’s fringe offer a contrasting, slower-paced lifestyle to those within our borders and it’s the reason why these suburbs are some of the most highly adored and desired.

Buyers strike gold when a home comes on the market in Hall, Murrumbateman, Carwoola and Bungendore, just to name a few, and you’re lucky to score an inspection before an offer comes through that the sellers couldn’t refuse, taking it off the market just as quickly as it appeared.

So, this week we’ve picked out our top four properties on the market in the NSW surrounding regions.

Murrumbateman

If you’re in search of privacy and seclusion, consider this 9308-square-metre property in sought-after Murrumbateman with sweeping views across the valley.

Designed to accommodate large families, the main residence consists of three living areas and a custom-built billabong pool.

If one bedroom with its own en suite wasn’t enough, this house has an extra bedroom with en suite – great for visiting guests and segregation.

15 Clydesdale Close, Murrumbateman

The large open-plan kitchen and dining area are complemented by the six-metre cathedral ceilings and a stone feature wall.

With warm weather creeping up, the entertainer’s backyard is the place to be. It has a covered al fresco space with a large barbecue area and an in-built pizza oven.

Bungendore

A homestead that perfectly blends old English charm with comfortable contemporary living, Rose Cottage – as it’s affectionately been named – was built circa 1885 by local flour mill operator Alexander McClung as a cottage for his workers.

This heritage-listed home has since received extensive renovations but they haven’t taken away from the home’s 135-year history, character and charm.

Set on over 2085 square metres of formal English gardens, the home features four bedrooms, almost five-metre-high cathedral ceilings, and a designer kitchen that opens onto al fresco entertaining zones.

7 Turallo Terrace, Bungendore

Tongue-and-groove lining boards, spotted gum hardwood floors and ornate cast iron fireplace registers are some of the original period details that have been retained in the home.

It’s no wonder the home has seen previous success as a bed and breakfast. But with an overflow of weddings to catch up on next year, perhaps the incredible gardens could attract extra earning potential as a backdrop for impending nuptials? Just a thought.

Making a grand statement are the 3.3-metre-high ceilings with stylish Velux skylights that flood the formal lounge and dining room with natural light.

The sleek kitchen includes an open butler’s pantry, island bench with integrated Bosch dishwasher, invisible rangehood, and Smeg oven and induction cooktop.

37 Helen Circuit, Googong

In the main bedroom, you will find a walk-in wardrobe that connects to the en suite with dual basin vanity, large back-lit mirror and rainwater shower.

The open-plan design transitions to a child-friendly backyard with paved al fresco area, easy-care gardens and plenty of space for the kids to play while the adults relax or entertain.
