Top 5 homes to inspect in Canberra this weekend

June 12, 2019
33 Elimatta Street in Reid is going to auction on June 29.

Canberra agents are seeing signs of a property market recovery from tightened lending triggered by the financial services royal commission.

“We’re definitely seeing an uptick. The numbers are picking up at inspections and auctions and we are getting back to, say, November figures, before the royal commission really started to bite,” says Peter Carey of Luton Properties Dickson.

Carey says the absence of stamp duty is also likely to motivate heightened activity from first-home buyers in July and August with a focus on the unit market.

There are 28 properties going to auction this Saturday, June 15.  If you’re on the hunt for homes to check out this weekend, we’ve prepared a shortlist to set you in the right direction of our top 5 picks.
