It’s not usual for a room in a house to have a window, doors and somewhere to sit.
Yet, in a home in Alabama in the US, these combined elements make little sense.
The room in question is a bathroom. Actually, no, it’s a room with a toilet and little else.
The white porcelain throne sits alone at the end of the room.
A generous window is on one side and a wall with a door that appears to access the backyard on the other side.
The only comfort in seeing this room is that it fits in with the uniqueness of the property.
It’s not out of place in a home with four roofs and an open air courtyard at its heart.
With multiple roofs, it’s perhaps little surprise the single level home is spacious.
There is enough room for six bedrooms and four bathrooms – two full bathrooms and two half bathrooms.
The property is described as being “nestled” on two acres in beautiful Grant, Alabama – a tiny town of just over 1000 people.
As with many unique homes, the Zillow listing found its way to Reddit and garnered quite the response.
“This is the most Sims house I’ve ever seen,” one user wrote.
“Talk about a throne room,” a second person shared.
“Why is that toilet so alone and afraid?” yet another wrote.
Others questioned the design of the home, and many querying the use of courtyard.
“Prison yard chic,” one person wrote.
“Residents and guests can earn extra time in the yard for good behaviour,” another said.
The home at 8500 Simpson Point Road is on the market for US$712,000 or just over $1.1 million.
The average home value in Alabama is US$235,066 or $366,000.
