McKenzie Beach is one of the most charming undiscovered open surfing beaches on the South Coast. Most of the year it is a quiet little appealing beach, after which the property Wainbah is named. The house has a commanding vista; starting from Pretty Point to the East, past Jimmies island and south to the coastline, and thence to McKenzie surf beach.
Nestled snuggly into Pretty Point headland on approximately four acres (l.63ha) of natural remnant coastal bush, it is hidden from the road by a picturesque private drive.
This six bedroom rambling beach residence presents as two wings. The extensive use of glass and warmth of the natural timbers flows seamlessly from the headland wing to the beach wing and contributes to a sense of the calm from the sea where each day gives a new perspective on the changing colours and energy of the sea scape.
It is the ideal venue for significant family gatherings, catering for the largest groups, where families can spread out, or couples can find a secluded getaway. Each wing has its own open/slow combustion fireplace to enjoy. The large roof sundeck is ideal for relaxed parties or for star gazing at the spectacular Milky Way.
There is something for everyone. Walks start at the back gate; the tennis court beckons and a direct path leads to the beach. Established raised garden beds reward a minimum of effort, and free form native gardens contain Burrawang and other species. Wildlife permeates, be it dolphins in the bay, whales off-shore, or the occasional Echidna ambling by. Prolific bird life asks for attention.
Daily flights from nearby Moruya airport connect it to the rest of the world.
