As a coffee-loving nation, it’s no surprise that Australia uses an estimated one billion takeaway coffee cups per year.

What might be surprising is that 90 per cent of these cups end up in landfill. Unfortunately, most disposable coffee cups can’t be recycled because of their hidden plastic content – which is why we picked our favourite reusable cups.

But there’s a groundswell happening among the coffee grounds – cafes are encouraging customers to bring their own reusable coffee cups, and offering them an incentive to do so.
