Beckhams sell estate for $20 million

David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly sold their estate in the English countryside for £12 million (A$20 million). 

The Hertfordshire mansion dubbed Beckingham Palace was purchased by the couple just after their wedding for £2.5 million.

The Georgian-style property about an hour’s drive north of London sits on 5 hectares and is surrounded by manicured gardens 

According to the Sun on Sunday, the couple are pooling money to buy a £45 million pad in the capital.

A source told the tabloid that the sale represented ‘‘the beginning of a new era for the family’’.

Thrown in with the purchase were several sports cars including a Ferrari and two Jaguars as well as the family’s £2.6 million holiday home in France.

Recent estimates of the couple’s net worth came in at £190 million.
