Dust off your golf shoes and give your set of irons a polish, because at these new townhouses a game on the green is set to be scheduled every weekend.
Oakmont is a boutique development of just nine townhouses in Holt, built by Mascot Projects and situated within walking distance to the Magpies Golf Course in MacGregor.
“Given the proximity to the golf course, Oakmont is named after the world-renowned country club in the US,” says agent Matt Runko of Independent Woden & Weston Creek.
You’re almost obliged to throw on the collared shirt and spend at least a few hours on the fairway.
Of the nine three-bedroom homes, just six remain for sale. And given the final fit-out is happening as we speak, with expected completion set for the fourth quarter of this year, they’re almost ready for inspection.
All of the homes are free-standing and single-level which, when coupled with a double garage and internal access, means it feels nothing like living in a complex.
“Oakmont has larger floor plans and more outdoor space than many of the stand-alone houses in the area,” says Runko.
“Most floor plans offer open-plan living areas, all master bedrooms come equipped with ample en suites and plenty of storage is offered across the home, particularly in the large linen cupboards.
“Designed for low-maintenance living with easy-care gardens, these homes are big enough for comfortable living, yet you still have the ability to just lock up and leave on the weekends.”
Neutral colour tones have been incorporated into the contemporary interior design, with buyers able to select their flooring choice, which includes timber to the living kitchen and hallways and carpet to the bedrooms.
“We wanted the interiors to match a wide range of furniture and decor styles, to let the buyers’ tastes come out through their furnishings,” says Runko.
Stone benchtops feature in the chef’s kitchen and the latest Westinghouse “dark stainless” appliances add to the luxurious nature of the homes. These appliances include a gas cooktop, air fry/steam bake oven, glass rangehood and dishwasher.
Double glazing and zoned heating and cooling provide comfortable temperatures year-round, and an alarm system offers added security when you just want to get away for the weekend.
Outside, covered entertaining areas are large enough for physically distant dinner parties with family and friends.
If golf isn’t really your scene, there are plenty of trails to be explored in the surrounding nature reserves. Runko recommends the nearby Shepherds Lookout walking track for an adventurous day outdoors.
The Kippax shops are also within walking distance, as is a cheap Wednesday schnitzel at the Raiders Belconnen club.
