Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has proven yet again just how amicable divorce can be by buying a Los Angeles mansion across the road from his former wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

According to US Weekly, the $US6.75 million property is a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom residence that played host to the Academy Award winning actor in September at a bash to celebrate her 42nd birthday.

Admittedly, the purchase might have more to do with allowing Martin to see more of their two kids, Apple and Moses.

Before their “conscious uncoupling” in March, the couple were more regularly based in London where they own a mansion in Belsize Park, which they bought from Kate Winslet in 2004.

In March the Los Angeles Times reported they bought a $US14 million mansion in Malibu.

The other attraction that is rumoured to be luring Martin to LA is talk he is now dating The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, although we’ll wait for official confirmation of that one.
