Pablos Picasso’s painting, The Women of Algiers, has set a new record for the highest price ever paid for a painting at auction this week.
The artwork sold to a private collector at a New York auction for a cool $US179 million ($227 million).
While this mysterious art fan obviously had a deep desire (and pockets) to purchase the work, it got us thinking about what else you could spend your hard earned money on.

Australia’s most expensive listing, the former Fairfax family mansion is rumoured to have an asking price of over $50 million.
