Hume’s New West Industry Park is set to be further boosted with three blocks of industrial land auctioned at the end of the month.
ACT government’s Suburban Land Agency released the blocks onto the market more than two weeks ago.
The three blocks range in size from 6079 to 9269 square metres.
The ACT Suburban Land Agency will be auctioning the blocks at the Ainslie Football Club on June 27 with Civium Property Group the listing agency.
This is the first time land released by the ACT government at the New West Industry Park has been auctioned. Most of the blocks have been offered via a tender process.
A total of 24 blocks of industrial land have sold at the New West Industry Park to public and private companies, including, most notably, the ACT Government Motor Vehicle Inspection Station.
A spokesperson from the ACT Suburban Land Agency said the precinct allows for a variety of both larger and smaller industrial-focused businesses, with larger IZ1 zoned general industrial sites and smaller IZ2 zoned mixed use industrial sites.
Of the the 24 blocks, 16 have been IZ1 zoned, ranging in size from 5031 to 24,868 square metres; and eight have been IS2 zoned, ranging in size from 1682 square metres to 3772 square metres.
The blocks that are set to be auctioned are all IZ1 zoned.
Previous sales have included $3,108,950 for a 24,868 square metre block and $1.05 million for a 6974 square metre block.
New West Industry Park sits on a 56 hectare parcel of land, the first sites for the estate were released in 2011.
“New West Industry Park is continuing to expand as Canberra’s newest industrial precinct. Its prime positioning facing Monaro Highway is one of the attractions for a variety of businesses in the transportation, construction and bulky goods industries,” the spokesperson said.
“Six blocks remain for sale in the precinct which offer flexible settlement arrangements to further support purchasers.”
There are currently 13 Hume industrial blocks listed on Commercial Real Estate.
